This article from CNN’s, “Make, Create, Innovate” showcases the i-limb. The i-limb is a biotic hand that has the ability to use a full range of motion unlike other prosthetics before it. The design is revolutionary for its ability to manipulate different grips and the ease in which to control it. Unlike other biotic hands, it allows each finger to move separately. David Gow, the British inventor behind the i-limb, says that they have “broken through the barrier of making a hand that looks like a medical device.”

The i-limb costs around $100,000, including fitting and training. This new biotic hand has started to see a large growth in demand. But to Gow, this is much more than a business; it’s a product helping lives around the world. We shall, no doubt, see far more advances in the field of prosthetics and the hope that someday everyone can afford one.
